During the past few weeks America has had to deal with the shocking Cosby accusations and the issue of police brutality at the same time. These last few weeks have given us the opportunity to share our views on racism, police brutality, rape, celebrity privileges, and more. I’ve witnessed the passion that many people have when addressing these issues and there has been a lot of finger pointing and speculations being made concerning the suspects and the victims. But the reality of the situation is that few of us knows what actually happened in any of the cases above.
In the midst of all the mayhem, the finger pointing, and name calling we should remember the golden rule, “Treat others the way you would like to be treated”. We should treat each suspect and each victim the way we would like to be treated if we were in their shoes. This is where justice begins. Without compassion, grace, mercy, and love we will only create more conflict and more division. Practicing the golden rule is a way to fix past problems and prevent further problems. Love you all!
